Where, when, and who to train with at Morpeth Harriers.
Morpeth Harriers has a strong coaching team across road, cross country, and track and field disciplines, supporting athletes from beginners through to international level.
Our two main training nights are Monday and Thursday evenings. The clubhouse is open from 6:30pm for athletes to gather, and groups head out from 7:00pm.
If you’re new to the club, the best time to come along is Monday evening between 7:00 and 7:15pm. Coaches will be on hand to chat through training options and recommend a suitable group.
We have several training groups for athletes of different ages, abilities and disciplines. The right group for you depends on your goals and current level.
The Monday and Thursday Walk, Talk and Run group is led by Andrew. The group is ideal for those new to the club but wanting to develop further, those wanting to build on progress so far under coaching guidance, or those just wishing to run socially.
Mark Brown leads the Monday night junior competition group. Sessions usually have a 1 mile warm-up and warm-down at various locations around Morpeth. The group is aimed at kids competing or preparing for competition. Running one night a week on a Monday is not enough to build towards competitions, so where possible consider additional sessions during the week as well.
Track and field training takes place at the King Edward VI School track on Cottingwood Lane. See the track facility location below for full details.
For any training questions, please use the contact form and we’ll route your enquiry to the right coach. See also our dedicated pages for Young Athletes and Juniors.
